5.3. Syllabus
- A comparison of the arts: historical approach, theoretical problems and comparative study methods. Types of interartistic relationships. The coexistence of artistic media and mixed arts. Text and image.
- Historical perspectives. From the Horatian ut pictura poesis to the Laocoon of Lessing. Ekphrasis exercises.
- Allegorism and symbolism in the Middle Ages. Spaces of knowledge and the liberal arts. The Golden Age. Humanism and the recovery of the classic tradition. The Enlightenment, literature and art during Romanticism.
- From the fin-de-siècle crisis and modernism to the avant-gardes. Text and image in the 20th century.
